On December 27, Barco de Papel Cultural Center presented the first collection of poems by Mar Beltrán (Veracruz, Mexico) Del otro lado de la habitación (On the other side of the room.)

This book brings together 40 poems between the erotic and the sensual. Beltran in his collection of poems, shows the influence of the poetic work of Juan Ramón Jiménez, Pablo Neruda, Jaime Sabines, Tomás Segovia and Efraín Bartolomé.

About the Author

Mar was born in the state of Veracruz, Mexico. Dental Surgeon by profession, her first approach to literature happened when she was eleven years old. Only four years ago  she decided to start writing in the Taller de la Capilla Alfonsina (Alfonsina Chapel Workshop), wheres he took part in various readings and writing exercises. Mar writes poetry, short story and essay. Her first book is erotic poetry. for her poetry is the expression of the soul, and in it is the life of the poet. “Poetry is not written, it is lived” she said.
